Principal and 5-8 Grade Teacher: Mr. Stacy
Sato 
This will be Mr. Sato's second year at Calvary. A native of Hawaii, he is
a called Lutheran teacher who obtained his Masters of Education in Curriculum
and Instruction from Kennedy Western University. His Bachelor of Arts in
Elementary Education and Physical Education is from Concordia University,
Portland. He has been a teacher for 24 years and holds a lifetime teaching
credential in the state of Hawaii. He formerly taught and was principal
at Messiah Lutheran School in Hawaii. He also taugh at other Hawaii Lutheran
schools. He has coached students in many sport from grade 4 through high
school. Mr. Sato helped open the Andre Agassi Charter School in Las Vegas,
NV. In his free time Mr. Sato enjoys physical fitness activities, martial
arts and dancing.
Administrative Assistant to the Principal: Ms. Nimyah
Pulley
Ms. Pulley has a wide range of experience with administration, recruiting, marketing, loss prevention and much more! She has been a general manager, operations manager, regional sales manager/promoter and has served in the armed forces. She currently resides in Silver Spring.Hablo español.
Kindergarten Teacher: Miss Lauren Reavis 
Miss Reavis is beginning her second year at Calvary. We are so blessed to have
her under our wing. She holds a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University
of Maryland and is certified by the state of Maryland in Early Childhood Education.
She spent a year teaching in Prince George's County schools and in addition
to her work there, Miss Reavis has devoted herself to youth activities, and
early childhood education support. Miss Reavis was a member of the University
of Maryland Crew Team and loves music-- in fact she plays the flute and tuba!
First Grade Teacher: Mrs. Elda Banks 
Our 1st grade teacher has enjoyed teaching the younger children for 37 years
and is a Graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science.
Teaching is her calling and she is a natural with her first grade students.
Mrs. Banks' hobbies are identifying wildflowers and birds, hiking, biking and
swimming. She loves music, concerts and historical novels.
Second Grade Teacher: Mrs. Jeanne Robinson 
Mrs. Robinson has been with us for more than 6 years. A native of Brooklyn,
NY she graduated from the High School of Fashion Industries and went on to earn
her B.S. degree in Business Administration, cum laude honor, from Medgar Evers
College in Brooklyn, NY. She lived in Johannesburg, South Africa for three years.
Mrs. Robinson loves the Lord and taught Discipleship classes for a number of
years in Georgia. Mrs. Robinson is currently working on her Maryland teaching
certification. When she is not working, she follows her God-given talent of
sewing. She also enjoys sports, reading, movies, and traveling.
Third Grade Teacher: Mr. Michael Gall 
A called Lutheran teacher, Mr. Gall is in his 12th year of teaching. A graduate
of Concordia, River Forest, IL, he taught 3rd grade prior to coming to Calvary.
He has served as our Athletic Director and Assistant Principal in addition to
previously serving the church as Youth Director. He taught Social Studies to
both 4th and 5th grades, in addition to previously serving as the Fifth Grade
Teacher. He participates extensively in our athletics programs and has sponsored
the 4th and 5th grade "Safety Patrols" and school-wide track and field
events. He also co-directs and produces the annual Christmas program. Mr. Gall
is a history buff, especially on the subject of the Civil War.
Fourth Grade Teacher: Mrs. Sherie Bauman 
Our 4th Grade teacher has been employed at Calvary for more than 21 years. A
lay Lutheran teacher, she is a graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm,
MN, with a Bachelor of Science and holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and
Instruction from Trinity College, Washington, DC and a Maryland teaching certificate.
She is an incredible science teacher and teaches science to both our 4th and
5th grade classes. In her free time Mrs. Bauman is a very accomplished competitive
figure skater!
Fifth - Eighth Grade Teacher: Ms. Martha Moore 
Ms. Moore has been with us for 7 years. She is a graduate of Wartburg College,
Waverly, IA, with a Bachelor of Arts in English and the University of Windsor,
Ontario, Canada, with a Master of Arts in English. She writes, directs and produces
the annual Spring Drama. Ms. Moore is a talented writer who loves drama and
music and has in fact had some of her compositions published. She is a life-long
Girl Scout.
Fifth - EighthGrade Math Teacher:
Spanish and 5-8 Grade Enrichment Teacher: Mr. Alvaro Ochoa-Monca
Mr Ochoa comes to Calvary from the Berlitz School of Language in Washington D.C. He has designed and conducted lessons in Spanish for a variety of clients with a wide range of needs and abilities.
5-8 Grade Religion Teacher: Mr. David Whitt 
Mr. Whitt is the Minister of youth/Discipleship at Calvary Lutheran Church.
He has lived in Silver Spring his whole life. Mr. Whitt attended Albert Einstein
High School and received his GED in 1994. He attended Washington Bible College,
and graduated in 2002 with a B.A. in Theology and Pastoral Ministry. Mr. Whitt
is currently enrolled in Southern Evangelical Seminary in the M.Div. program
with a concentration in Apologetics and World Religions. He is married to Suzanne
and has a son - Shaun. His hobbies include learning, living, and laughing.
Art Teacher: Ms. Emily Gould
This will be Ms. Gould's first year as Calvary's Art teacher who also attends
The School of Art & Design at Montgomery College. Prior to that she has
taught Art at The American School of Pachuca in Mexico. Ms. Gould received her
training from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts with her specialty in
the field of Fine Arts. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at The
School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Ms. Gould resides in Silver Spring with
her husband and three children.
Computer/Choir Director/Aftercare Director: Ms. Olivia Thompson
Ms. Thompson is also new to the Calvary team and will support many facets of
the school program. Experienced in music and technology she will be coordinating
our computer and choir offerings in addition to managing our Extended Day Care
program. Ms. Thompson has a BA from Towson University, Towson, MD, extensive
background in customer service and sales, and experience relating to and working
with children from birth to age 12. In her "free time" she has been
employed as a Lifeguard and is a professional photographer and videographer,
having interned with the Baltimore Orioles and will continue her work as an
official camerawoman with the Bowie Baysox baseball team.
Morning Care/Food Service Manager: Mary Sue Baugham 
Mrs. Baugham is certified by the State of Maryland Health and Human Services
as a Food Manager and has been employed by Calvary Lutheran Church and School
for 8 years. She also serves as our Before Care supervisor and has completed
coursework in early childhood education, in addition to her Food Manager's course.
She is very active in the Women of Calvary and supports many events in and around
Calvary with her hospitality service. In her free time, Mrs. Baugham is an avid
bowler.
