Our Mural unveiling, April 18, 2006 was the result of months of effort supported by a grant from the Washington Post Company. Under the guidance of Art Teacher Marty Milam and local artist Ame Perlman-Gura, our Middle School students designed the mural and prepared the materials. Then, the real fun started. Each of our 100 students, youngest to oldest, had the opportunity to paint a portion of the mural with our Middle School students applying the finishing touches.

On our mural you will find motifs inspired by favorite themes from our students' hearts and minds: Faith, the Future, Music, the Environment, and Culture.

The Calvary outdoor mural is located on our playground at 9545 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring. It is one of several murals in and around Silver Spring. Why not take your family on a mural scavenger hunt? You will find other Silver Spring murals at:

The Discovery Communications Building

The Silver Spring Metro station
